Landscape Design

Landscape design focuses on both the integrated master landscape planning of a property and the specific garden design of landscape elements and plants within it. It is often divided into hardscape design and softscape design.

Factors in designing include objective qualities; such as the climate and microclimates; topography and orientation, site drainage and groundwater recharge; municipal and resource building codes, soils and irrigation, human and vehicular access and circulation, recreational amenities (ie: sports and water), furnishings and lighting, native plant habitat botany when present, property safety and security, construction detailing, and other measurable considerations.

Factors in designing also include subjective qualities such as: client’s needs and preferences; desirable plants and elements to retain on site, modify, or replace, and available to use as borrowed scenery from beyond; artistic composition; spatial development and definition; plant palettes in designed layouts, and artistic focal points for enjoyment.

Hardscape

Hardscape, in the practice of landscaping, refers to the paved areas like streets & sidewalks, large business complexes & housing developments, and other industrial areas where the upper soil profile is no longer exposed to the actual surface of the Earth.

Typical small-scale hardscaping examples include brick patios and sidewalks. Retaining walls are often used to create boundaries between hardscapes and earth landscaping features, or softscapes. From an urban planning perspective, hardscapes can include very large features, such as paved roads. Most artificial water features are technically hardscapes because they require a barrier to retain the water, instead of letting it drain into the surrounding soil.

From an aesthetic perspective, hardscaping allows workers to erect landscaping features that would otherwise be impossible due to soil erosion, or that compensate for large amounts of human traffic that would cause wear on bare earth or grass. For example, sheer vertical features are possible.

Lawn Chemicals

The purpose of treating your lawn should be about applying the necessary nutrients in the proper amounts at the correct times. This will ensure the deepest level of green and limit the amount of weed growth throughout the year.

We are all licensed and know exactly what your lawn will need and when it will need it to look its best all year. At Roseberry Landscape Services, we offer a complete program for residential lawns consisting of 7 rounds of applications (2 pre-emergent, 4 fertilizations, and a winterizer).

Irrigation

Sprinkler systems should be about efficiency. It is up at the top of the list as one of the most important ways to protect your landscape investment. Your system should help supplement Mother Nature to keep your plants healthy and living.

We understand the importance of drainage and irrigation to a successful landscape design and we install irrigation systems that will provide a sufficient quantity of water to your lawn and plantings while ensuring efficient control of your water.

LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE

On the surface lawn maintenance is simple. However, when the people that show up to mow can also identify any potential problems with your shrubs, lawn, sprinkler systems or drainage and then have the knowledge and expertise to either fix them as soon as possible or alert the client, then you truly have a landscape management company.

At Rosesberry Landscape Services, we will strive to keep your lawn and landscaping looking the best it can by being proactive instead of reactive!
